1. Where can I pay my court fine/fees and costs?

The Citrus County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller's office is located at 

110 N Apopka Avenue
Inverness Fl, 34450 

Our office accepts cash, personal check, cashiers check, money orders and credit cards. There will be a service fee from the credit card vendor. Credit card payments can be made by calling nCourt at 844-400-6727 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Saturday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST. Payments can also be made online at the

Online Payment page.

2. What form of payment do you accept?

The Citrus County Clerks Office can accept the following forms of payment

• Cash 
• Check/Travelers Check 
• Credit Card/Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express)
  • Credit Card Payments can be made over the phone or on our website
  • Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are accepted. 
  • A credit card service fee by nCourt.com will be applied.
• Money Order

3. Who do I make the check or money order payable to?

Make the check or money order payable to, Clerk of Court.

4. What is a misdemeanor charge?

- A misdemeanor is any offense that is punishable under Florida laws, or that would be punishable if committed in Florida, by imprisonment in the local county jail.
- Misdemeanor charges include, but are not limited to simple/domestic battery, criminal mischief, resist arrest without violence, possession of marijuana, prostitution, passing worthless bank checks, petit theft and possession of alcohol by a minor.

5. How do I get a copy of my misdemeanor record?

If the offense occurred in Citrus County, you may come to the Citrus County Courthouse, or you may mail a written request:

Costs for copies are $1 per page for regular copies and an additional $2 for each document to be certified.

6. Who should I notify if my address changes?

It is your responsibility to notify the Clerk's Office in writing if your address changes. This may be done in person at:

An Address Change for can be obtained here Change of Address Form (PDF) and mailed to our office at the address above.. Please include your case number and name with any correspondence.

7. What happens if I fail to appear for my court date?

Failure to appear could result in a Misdemeanor Judge issuing a capias for your arrest. You may forfeit the bond you posted, thus losing your money or collateral. Should you be arrested for failure to appear, you may be held in jail with or without a bond.

8. How do I find information about my case or other misdemeanor cases?

9. How can I have my case sealed or expunged?

To seal or expunge a criminal record requires court approval. You can also visit the Seal or Expunge a Record page for more information. Sealing and Expunging Cases

To obtain the application and instructions on sealing or expunging a Citrus County misdemeanor case, you will need to visit

Florida Department of Law Enforcement's website.

10. Can I get access to Citrus County Criminal records on the Internet?

Criminal records can be found by visiting the

Secured Courts Online Record Search System.

11. How do I have a public defender appointed to my case?

At your arraignment, you will have an opportunity to complete an Affidavit of Indigent Status form, and request the appointment of the public defender. You may also, prior to arraignment, file an Affidavit of Indigent Status, with the Felony Division of the Clerk's office. A determination of indigent status will be made by a deputy clerk based on the information in the Affidavit. A $50 application fee will be assessed to your case whether a public defender is appointed or not.

12. How do I get my bond money back now that my case has been disposed?

At the conclusion of your case, the Clerk shall withhold from the return of a cash bond, posted on behalf of a criminal defendant by a person other than a bail bond agent, sufficient funds to pay any unpaid court fees, court costs, and criminal penalties. If the amount posted is greater than the fees, costs, and penalties due, the balance will be refunded to the depositor by mail, generally within ten business days of the disposition of the case. 

You may contact our Felony Department at 352-341-6424 for more information about your bond. Monies paid to a Bail Bondsman are not refundable.

13. How do I find out IF there is a capias or bench warrant out for my arrest?

The Clerk’s Office cannot give out any information on capiases or bench warrants. Effective 10/1/2022, all active warrants, capiases, active orders for arrest including Writs of Bodily Attachment will not be viewable to the public on the Clerk of Court’s website pursuant to Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.420(c)(6).  

To review the details of your most recent court hearing, you may access https://scorss.citrusclerk.org/ and view the Court Order Disposition located in the case.   Some cases may require you to register as a party and submit a user agreement to our office to view your case.   

 

To obtain information on capiases or bench warrants  you may try one of the alternative options below.

• If you have an attorney, you should contact him or her to obtain further information.
• If you are on probation, contact your probation officer.
• Obtain or view a copy of your driving record at https://services.flhsmv.gov/dlcheck/ 

Did you fail to appear for a court hearing? If you did not appear for court, it is possible the Judge may have issued a capias. You can motion the Judge to request for the court date to be rescheduled and recall any potential capias issued, contact your attorney, or contact your probation officer.
