On November 20, 2021, the Florida Courts Portal moved to a new payment processor. This will have an effect on filers regarding payment. Currently, payment is accepted when the Clerk accepts and processes the document. When this change occurs, payment will be accepted at the time of filing through the Portal. The Clerk will continue to process documents pursuant to statutory guidelines which could be up to 3 days following submission.
If filings are rejected by the Clerk for correction, filers still have 5 days to correct and resubmit otherwise a refund will be initiated by the Portal. If the filing is corrected and resubmitted and the fees are different from the original amount, the portal will refund the original payment and create a new payment for the updated amount. Refunds will take 2-5 business days to appear in your account depending on your financial institution. For this reason, please be sure to thoroughly review your filings prior to submission to reduce the need for the Clerk to reject them.
