Clerk of Court Announces Recording Activity Notification
Angela Vick, the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, is pleased to announce the October 1st launch of a new service called Recording Activity Notification. This free service is a safeguard for citizens to monitor documents recorded in their name within the Official Records.
Deed fraud is a growing problem in many areas throughout the country. This happens when someone forges a property owner’s identity and transfers the property to themselves or to another owner. Clerk Vick wants to be proactive and offer citizens a layer of protection with this free service.
When you register for this service, you will receive an automatic email notification when a document is recorded specifically naming you or your business entity. The notifications are generated within 24 hours of a document being indexed into the Official Records, providing you with prompt notification of any recordings. Included in the notification will be the document type, registered name, and a link to the recorded document.
Visit the Clerk’s website for complete information and to register for the Recording Activity Notification.
