Juvenile Court

The Division handles dependency and delinquency cases brought against or on behalf of children under the age of 18 because of their misconduct or neglect and/or mistreatment by those responsible for their care. The division works closely with the Department of Children and Family Services, the Judiciary, State Attorney, and law enforcement agencies in carrying out its mission.

The division dockets all cases, attends court and hearings, and maintains all of the required court records. Juvenile records are maintained as confidential under Florida law.

Due to the confidential nature of cases involving juveniles, information will not be given over the telephone. Information regarding juvenile matters will only be made available to the juvenile, the juvenile's parents, the juvenile's or parents' attorney of record, and designated government/social service agencies.
