Accounting Services
- Responsible for all financial report to federal, state and local agencies
- Coordinates Citrus County Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Supervisor of Elections external audit
- Oversees all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems.
- Ensures compliance with appropriate accounting regulatory requirements and audit requirements
- Maintains internal control safeguards
Accounts Payable
- Processes all invoices for services and goods provided to the Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, and Supervisor of Elections
- Pre-audits and verifies that expenditures paid are legal and serve a public purpose
- Makes payments in accordance with the adopted budgets
- Paperless and electronic process
Cash and Investment Management
- Monitor daily cash balances for anticipated disbursements, and invest excess to optimize interest income
- Promote and maintain a fiscally sound financial relationship with a local banking institution based on a competitive bid process
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with the County’s investment policy
- Prepare monthly investment reports in accordance with County policy and Florida Statutes
Financial Statements and Reports
- Maintain a county-wide financial reporting system
- Ensure integrity and transparency of financial transactions
- Prepare and maintain the county’s financial statements and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
Payroll
- Provides payroll services for county employees including Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Supervisor of Elections, and Property Appraiser
- Responsible for all federal and state reporting requirements that are salary-related
